TrueCar is looking for an engineering manager to be a part of our digital retailing leadership team. This person will work with our Sr. Director, Software Engineering and the technology team to accomplish key business objectives. You will be expected to manage a team of remote technology professionals through the stages of project prioritization, design, development, delivery, and maintenance. If you have a technical background and are interested in all the challenges of people leadership, you might make a great fit for engineering management at TrueCar. What you'll do:
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to break down complex projects into smaller pieces and iterate on their design and implementation. Guide your team through the software development life cycle ensuring objectives are met and communicating status to stakeholders Grow and develop the engineers on your team through direct mentorship and frequent one-on-ones and career planning Work with other product development and technology teams to ensure we share code, tools, and processes to consistently improve re-use of TrueCar solutions, and help shape the architectural direction of Truecar Build and improve your team growing our culture of collaboration, inclusiveness, and respect by being an example Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members Create plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges in your organization What you'll need:

years experience as a software engineer 2
years of experience as a lead or manager of a team of engineers Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a similar field strongly desired Strong software development, design and architecture experience Ability to dive into technical details and eliminate ambiguity Willingness to lead initiatives and a passion for them to be successful You enjoy working in a collaborative environment with friendly people, and you're committed to fostering that culture in your teams Strong communication skills with engineers and non-technical folks Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines Demonstrated personal initiative and strong ownership Hands on technical experience with any of the following:
Ruby, Rails, React, GraphQL, AWS
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
