Our department has a unique relationship with LA County's Health Agency to provide care to under-resourced communities, and we have also forged strong partnerships with the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and UCLA Athletics.
We are looking for a friendly and eloquent candidate to provide administrative assistance at the Family Health Center clinic.
As a Patient Support Representative, you will work at the clinic's front desk and be the first point of contact for patients, as well as work behind the scenes where you facilitate the communication between providers and patients to ensure needs are being met.
In this role, you will work closely with physicians, residents, fellows, and other medical and administrative staff to provide the best patient care.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Check-in patients upon arrival Process co-payments Respond or route inbox messages to clinic providers Assist in the coordination of referrals and authorizations Call patients to schedule appointments Obtain and verify insurance information Provide clerical assistance Answer questions about billing Salary Range:

44 Hourly This is a full-time position eligible for free parking at the Family Health Center clinic and full benefits.

Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Ability to establish and maintain and productive working relationships with Faculty, Staff, Administration and patients from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds.
Ability to creatively integrate competing demands into a productive working environment.
Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems in both formal and informal situations.
Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health.
Preferred:
Knowledge of specific specialty practice and workflows.
Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and its services and programs.
Knowledge of hospital computer systems, and personal computer systems and the various software products to perform administrative work.
Familiarity and knowledge of authorization process & managed care programs.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
